What is an Auxiliary Member?

The Overlook Auxiliary, an independent organization made up of men and women of all ages, benefits Overlook Medical Center by providing much needed hands-on volunteering or creative fundraising. Auxiliary members work as an individual or as a member of a "Twig."

Can anyone be a member of a Twig?

Yes, your Twig can be made up of a group of friends from your town, neighborhood, place of worship, workplace, or anywhere that friends come together. Your Twig will be part of the Auxiliary. Spouses are also welcome. You work together for the benefit of Overlook Medical Center. Your Twig decides what projects you would most enjoy doing as a group.

In what activities are Twigs already involved?

Currently, Twigs are responsible for such volunteer activities as:

• Sewing Love Pillows for post-operative patients and Benji Puppets for Pediatric patients.

• Making Christmas Stocking Buntings and Easter Bunny Hats for newborns.

• Decorating the hospital during the holiday season.

• Throwing holiday parties in the Pediatric Department.

• Twigs also raise funds to benefit the hospital through such activities as the annual Derby Day and Wine Tasting  Parties, the Holiday Luminary sale, the Holiday Boutique sale, the biennial Kitchen Tour and many other gatherings.

How can my Twig help to support Overlook Medical Center?

Your Twig may choose activities from the medical center's many volunteer opportunities, fund items from the medical center's "Wish List," become part of our "adopt-a-floor" program, create a new, dazzling fundraising activity, or you may choose to let your creativity be your inspiration. In any event, Twigs are fun!

May I just join the Auxiliary?

We invite you to be a part of the Auxiliary. All members receive our quarterly newsletter the Pulse and are encouraged to actively pursue volunteer opportunities at Overlook Medical Center.

Twigs sound like a lot of fun.  How might I start one?

You and your friends are invited to become members of the Auxiliary and then join together as a Twig. Each of you can simply print the attached .PDF file, complete the form portion and return it to the Auxiliary with your $25.00 Dues check.  Once received, each of you will be entered into our membership rolls and contact will be made by a representative of the Auxiliary.  Or you may choose to complete the form below and click on Submit. A representative of the Auxiliary will then mail a membership form to you to begin the process.
