Overlook Hospital is a part of Atlantic
Health, one of New Jersey's largest non-profit
health care systems. As a non-profit organization, our
community hospital strives to deliver high quality, safe,
and affordable health care with respect and compassion.
The Overlook Hospital Auxiliary, an independent organization
made up of men and women of all ages, supports the hospital
by providing much needed hands-on support and creative
fundraising. Our efforts provide many of the extras that
make Overlook Hospital unique in our area. Each Auxilian's
volunteer commitment may be achieved either by working
as an individual or as a member of a Twig.
The Auxiliary's focus is
twofold: volunteering and fundraising. Our Gift Shop and Bloom located in the hospital's main lobby, is partially staffed
by our volunteers and is popular with patients, staff and the local community. The Auxiliary also
runs a biennial Kitchen Tour which features several of
the area's fabulous, newly appointed, private kitchens.
The "Art at Overlook" program provides local
New Jersey artists an opportunity to exhibit in the public
areas of
the hospital. Our very popular Annual Luncheon featuring a variety
of interesting guest speakers, as well as bus trips, themed parties and gatherings, create opportunities for
Auxilians to come together socially.
The Auxiliary supports such important
hospital-related programs as Hospice/Home care, Pastoral
care, The Overlook Hospital Oncology Center, Child Life,
and Social Services. We also fund several Nursing scholarships
for deserving candidates on an annual basis. In addition,
The Auxiliary has contributed funding for several important
building projects such as the Emergency Department
and the Pediatric dayroom.
