On April 26, 2010, the Executive Board of the Overlook Hospital Auxiliary donated $177,000 to three areas at Overlook Hospital; the Caregivers Center, the Solarium for Oncology and Palliative Care.
The Caregivers Center received $150,000 towards their mission of providing a place for family caregivers to get useful information in a quiet and relaxing environment. The Center will be located just off the Main Lobby of the hospital. The Solarium for Oncology received $25,000 for a much needed makeover. The Solarium is utilized by family and patients who are dealing with cancer and need a comfortable and quiet place to gather and talk. The makeover will include new carpeting, furniture, paint and fabric. Palliative Care received $2,000 to provide comfort baskets to assist family members caring for loved ones. The baskets contain creams, poems, blankets, CDs and more. Each basket is individually created for the patient. The Auxiliary Executive Committee approved Palliative Care as an on-going Board Approved Activity and as such, they will receive $2,000 per year to continue this project.

Funding for these projects is made possible through the Auxiliary Gift Shop and Bloom and the many Auxiliary Twigs who work tirelessly for the hospital.

On March 11, 2009 Fortnightly President, Lorraine Bowyer, presented the final Twin Maples Show House disbursement check totaling over $90,000 to Alan Lieber, Overlook Hospital President and COO. Several members of the Overlook Hospital Auxiliary Board were in attendance. The Show House was a joint fundraiser between the Overlook Hospital Auxiliary and the Fortnightly Club.
